Upcoming

Tonight I wrote the rough draft of my ArtsOpt for the week. It's about Mitch Nass and his "Gallon O' Milk Challenge." Like the name suggests, Mitch is testing the urban/pop-culture myth about the ability of someone to drink a gallon of milk in an hour and then keep it down for another hour, so check it out.

Coming next week, I have three stories. For Thursday's 80 Hours, I have a piece on a competition for video game developers to create a concept for a game that raises awareness of Aids. I'll also be writing a follow-up on the Joshua Casteel's play "Returns." On Friday the 9th, I'll also have a story about an arts and crafts convention. I am looking for an eccentric profile piece for this, so if you know anyone like that, who is going to participate in the Iowa City event, let me know.

Besides that, I just got Raymond Carver's collection of short stories entitled, "Where I'm Calling From." So far I am really into and would suggest it to anyone who likes short stories. It was recommended to me by David Gothard, who is currently in New York directing Sam Shepard's new play, "Kicking a Dead Horse."

I dunno about anyone else, but the dead horse in my life right now is certainly school. I'm not into it this semester and I'm ready for it to be over already. Sb couldn't come sooner right now.

P.s. check out www.stonesthrow.com to listen to some sic hip-hop. Otherwise, the Cold War Kids are what I'm listening to right now. That and madvillain. Hit it up.
